Frequently asked questions

Who are the eye doctors at Harvey Eye?
Harvey Eye Optometry is led by Dr. Andrew Harvey, OD, who founded the practice in 2009, and Dr. Jeremy Fowler, OD, a certified CooperVision Myopia Management Specialist with roughly 25 years of experience in optometry.
Where is Harvey Eye located?
We have two East Louisville offices: 12406 LaGrange Rd, Suite 202, Louisville, KY 40245, and 9474 Brownsboro Rd, Louisville, KY 40241.
Does Harvey Eye take my insurance?
Yes — we accept all major insurance plans. Call the office you plan to visit to confirm your specific plan before your appointment.
Does my child need an eye exam for kindergarten in Kentucky?
Yes. Kentucky state law requires an eye exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist for children entering kindergarten (or entering public school for the first time). We provide the state-required exam and complete the form during your visit.
What is OptiLight IPL?
OptiLight is the only FDA-approved intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment for dry eye disease caused by meibomian gland dysfunction. It is a quick in-office procedure performed as a series of sessions.
What is Ortho-K?
Ortho-Keratology (Ortho-K) uses custom FDA-approved lenses worn overnight to gently reshape the cornea, so you can see clearly during the day without glasses or contacts. The effect is fully reversible.
Do you treat keratoconus?
Yes. We fit custom scleral lenses for keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, post-LASIK/RK correction, corneal scarring, and severe dry eye.
What should I do for an eye emergency?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. For urgent (but non-life-threatening) eye issues such as a red eye, foreign body, or sudden flashes or floaters, call the Harvey Eye office nearest you during business hours; after-hours instructions are on our voicemail.
